Like every other teenager in the small south island town of Picton, Callum didn’t see the benefits of teachers telling him how to learn in highschool. After a rocky few years (for the teachers), Callum decided it was time he tried, and switched all his courses to achieve university entrance.
Callum then pursued a design degree without any previous design experience. With no talent, only vigorous hard work, he managed to excel at university, winning multiple design awards by the end of his bachelor degree.
After three years of university, Callum decided it was enough for him, and in his third year he seeked out an internship at a new, boutique Motion Design studio alongside his studies.
Working for a small Motion Design Studio, Callum was able to exponentially increase his skills in 2D & 3D animation and design over a small time period. The internship evolved into five hard years of professional Motion Design, upskilling Callum from intern to senior level. Throughout these years, Callum was able to work with high profile clients like MTV, Slack and even Google, boosting his confidence in his profession whilst increasing his communication skills to unforsign heights.
With this invaluable experience under his belt, Callum wanted to pursue new emerging technology and began to combine Motion & Web Design here at Psychoactive as the Motion Design Lead.
Create a new medium where websites are driven by motion, whilst sharing his knowledge in animation and storytelling.
Callum wants to drive innovation and excellence in design alongside helping build the best creative studio whose impact is felt around the globe.
