APA is Wellington’s #1 team of real estate experts. In collaboration with Obvious Brand Partners, our aim was to develop an intuitive, user-friendly website that showcases their realty services and property developments. We improved their content management system, allowing APA to update content, enhancing customer awareness, and positioning them as a trusted extension of Ray White.

What We Did

Ray White is a reputable real estate company with locations widespread throughout Australasia. APA is an extension of their New Zealand branch having sold more than 1000 homes in Wellington. Their multi-talented team is comprised of three distinct personalities who together have a combined 47 years of real estate experience.

Being industry leaders in marketing, strategy and negotiation, APA’s client testimonials speak to their personable and professional approach. Their website showcases a wide range of service offerings and communicates both brand identities as a name “you can trust”.

APA approached our two partnering agencies with the intention of redesigning their existing website. Our aim for this project was to develop an intuitive and user-friendly website that encompassed APA’s brand identity and service offerings. Our focus was to establish a conversational tone of voice and position them as an extension of Ray White’s network.

How We Did It

We endeavoured to create a user interface that emanated function over form. Consideration was given to the user experience and how to enhance the navigation of the site. We highlighted multiple call-to-actions by designing them as fixed elements, ensuring they were visible and accessible across all pages.

We used a range of contact modals and overlays, as a vehicle for call-to-actions.
Each was accompanied by subtle yet enticing animations, encouraging visitors to get in touch with APA. When a user clicks the Contact button, a side panel transitions onto the screen; mirroring the appearance of a navigation bar. It displays all APA team members and their individual contact information. 

By focusing on APA’s information architecture, we segmented their Service Page into a series of drop-down accordions. We fuelled our efforts into enhancing the user experience by organising the length of their content into a succinct and digestible format.

The site needed to have CMS functionality, allowing APA to add to their real estate listings, and provide their clients with regular and knowledgeable blog posts. To convey a sense of hierarchy we used multiple grid layouts propelling the legibility of prominent sales listings and regional up and coming projects.

We created a custom feature on the landing page that added a personal touch to the APA logo. When a user hovers over the image of an individual team member their name appears under the corresponding letter of APA (Andrew, Pono, Alice) and illuminates the logo in yellow. 

We placed a lot of thought into the responsiveness of the website, ensuring the core service “Market Appraisal” was easily found. Design principles such as colour, contrast and negative space were used to communicate important information and create a relationship between both APA and Ray White.
