  • WHAT WE DID: Strategy, Design, Development
  • CLIENT: Good Shepherd Entertainment & Big Fan Games

Psychoactive partnered with Good Shepherd Entertainment over multiple years as their digital design and development partner, working across both publisher platforms and individual game launches. This collaboration continued through Good Shepherd’s rebrand into Big Fan, supporting the evolution of the publisher’s digital presence while maintaining continuity across an expanding catalogue.

Across this partnership, Psychoactive designed and developed the Good Shepherd and Big Fan publisher websites, alongside dedicated launch experiences for titles including Hellboy Web of Wyrd, Killer Klowns From Outer Space, Monster Train, Hard West, Hard West 2, Showgunners, and The Eternal Cylinder. Each project required a distinct creative approach, while maintaining consistently high standards of performance, usability, and execution.

Good Shepherd / Big Fan Publisher Websites

Psychoactive designed and developed the original Good Shepherd publisher website to present the brand and support a growing catalogue of releases, combining publisher storytelling with clear, structured access to individual game launches. Following the pivot to Big Fan, Psychoactive designed and developed a new website to establish the publisher’s identity as a champion of indie-led, passion-driven licensed games. The platform reflects Big Fan’s focus on creative freedom and fandom, while remaining scalable and performant for ongoing launch activity.

Killer Klowns From Outer Space: The Game

Based on the cult 1980s film, Killer Klowns From Outer Space: The Game required a website that embraced humour, chaos, and retro horror. Psychoactive created a highly interactive experience built around glitch effects, animated elements, and playful cursor-driven interactions. Characters, weapons, and environments are revealed through dynamic layouts that encourage exploration, balancing spectacle with usability and performance.

Showgunners

Showgunners (previously named Homicidal All-Stars) is a turn-based tactics game set within a brutal, dystopian game show. Psychoactive designed a website that frames the experience as a live broadcast, using a fixed layout and layered visual effects to evoke a futuristic transmission. Animation, lighting, and reactive elements are used throughout the site to immediately establish tone, intensity, and personality.

Hard West

For Hard West, Psychoactive designed a dedicated landing experience focused on atmosphere and storytelling. The site introduces the game’s supernatural western setting through strong typography, restrained motion, and carefully sequenced content. The experience prioritises clarity and discovery while allowing the game’s artwork and themes to take centre stage.

Hard West 2

Hard West 2 builds on the original with a more cinematic and content-rich presentation. Psychoactive designed a full-screen, single-page website featuring gameplay footage, screenshots, and illustration-led sections that scale seamlessly across devices. A clean side navigation allows users to move quickly through the page, while subtle transitions maintain momentum throughout the experience.

Monster Train

Monster Train is a strategic deck-building roguelike with a strong visual identity. Psychoactive designed a website that brings the game’s mechanics and characters to life through parallax motion, interactive cards, and CSS-driven effects. Game assets are integrated directly into the interface, ensuring the website feels like a natural extension of the game rather than a separate marketing layer.

The Eternal Cylinder

In The Eternal Cylinder, players explore a strange alien ecosystem as a herd of evolving creatures known as Trebhums. Psychoactive designed a minimal, exploration-focused website that foregrounds world-building and discovery. Interactive elements allow users to learn about creatures and mutations without overwhelming the experience, keeping attention on the game’s unique systems and environments.
